Distorted Views

I've realized over the course of time that people will ONLY understand what they choose too no matter how much you try to explain to them. Trying to explain something to someone who operates from a distorted point of view is like trying to convince the world a dog is a cat; it'll NEVER happen.

Further, you can't tell a "know-it-all" anything for they've already convinced themselves they are right. This train of thought is a killer to personal & professional relationships. How can one develop & become better if they are ALWAYS right?

STOP hindering your growth process. Listen to other people's account & respectfully agree or disagree. Don't do things out of spite; YOU'LL LOSE in the end.

  2. I agree! No one was born knowing everything. Life is too short to learn and know everything. Keeping an open mind is what makes people smart. And never underestimate anyone, because every one knows something that you don't!

  4. I agree with you professor. Some people are so narrow minded that they are hurting themselves and their future. They need a change of mind or like the bible say renew your mind.

  5. People that have close minds are people that are insecure about something in their live. Since they feel that the world can see these flaws they try to hide it by being a know it all or just stick to one opinion.

  6. I agree with you on these thoughts. I look at it in the way that you cannot have one without the other. You know how they say there can be no good without evil. Well in this case without an opposing opinion or point of view theres no room to make way for rational thinking. As far as the know it alls I try to avoid those types of people like the plague.

  7. so true I hate when a relationship is one sided or just me and friend don't agree on things. I don't like when a person "Claims to know so much." If they knew so much how come we have president Obama and not them, or how come they can come up with how to make more money so we can leave like the jones. or how come there relationships always end in 2 to 3 months they know so much.

  8. WOW! I totally agree with you. I believe that it is important to see things "outside of the box" and to have an open mind about things. An open mind does not necessarily mean that you have to agree with people's beliefs or opinions, it just means to think about it in more than one aspect/way. See it from everyone elses' perspective, not just your own. Doing this has paid off in my life for sure. This is what people lack and therefore are the ones that you seem to be talking about here. Thanks for this post. I really enjoyed looking at it because it really made me think.
