Time. A word that we throw around so frivolously and, yet, it's such an integral piece of the puzzle in LIFE. In this season of "thanks," often times we reflect on what we have, what we have lost, and what's to be gained. During this process of reflection, we often forget that TIMING is and was everything. Retrospectively speaking, we make note of what we should, could, or would do had things been different.
When was the last time you thought about timing...not in the sense of an hour, a day, a minute, or a second. But, when was the last time when you really considered TIMING & its impact on your day-to-day life, your "emotional and spiritual" timing?
Emotions often seem to go hand and hand with time; they come and go as they please. One’s emotional timing can justly or unjustly, in some cases, dictate relationships albeit, personal or professional. Your “emotional timing” can be so off that you inadvertently devastate someone else’s life. How do you rectify this, the mess, and/or damage that has been done in someone else’s life?
The bible tells us, “…For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8).
In life, we cannot and are not afforded the opportunity to wait for the “perfect” timing to do things. But, I challenge you to critically think about the “space” you are operating in, to examine your “emotional & spiritual” availability before you justly or unjustly DELAY someone else’s timing.
I’ll leave with this, “…Opportunities are easily lost while waiting for perfect conditions.”
